Dentist Advanced Dentistry Center Bingham Farms, Michigan, United States
Purpose of the Study: Peri-implantitis remains one of the leading causes of implant failure, and current research confirms that post-surgical interventions have limited long-term success. This table clinic presents a pre-surgical prevention protocol rooted in the CDM (Centers for Dental Medicine) Total Health Program, combining oral-systemic risk assessment, targeted diagnostics, and customized patient wellness strategies to mitigate the risk of peri-implant complications.
Methods: Attendees will learn how to implement specific pre-surgical measures, including health and family history evaluation, in-office screening tests (BANA, CRP, HbA1c and Vit D, and Pathogen DNA test), microbial and inflammation profiling, and co-diagnostic tools like the Standard Periodontal Probe.
Results: Emphasis is placed on the integration of these steps into the treatment planning process, patient communication, and follow-up care. Results from clinical cases will demonstrate how preemptive, data-driven protocols contribute to improved healing, reduced inflammation, and sustained implant success.
Conclusion: Reducing the risk of peri-implantitis begins before the surgical phase. By adopting a proactive, health-centered approach that includes systemic screening and personalized care, clinicians can significantly improve implant outcomes and practice sustainability.
