Dr. Pranav Kataria, DDS (Honors), MPH, BDS (Distinction), FADI, FICD, is a clinician–researcher specializing in periodontology and implant dentistry. He holds dual dental board certifications in Canada and the United States, reflecting his international professional standing. Dr. Kataria earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery with Honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction from Manipal University. He is currently completing a three-year residency in Periodontics and Dental Implants at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kataria’s scholarly contributions span oncology, implantology, and periodontal regeneration. His publications in Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer, and Oral Oncology have advanced understanding of TP53 mutations and extranodal extension in oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma. He has also authored and co-authored clinical papers on implant therapy and bone regeneration, with several ongoing projects investigating computer-guided versus freehand immediate implant placement, artificial intelligence in research interpretation, and alternative biopsy sites for oral mucocutaneous lesions.
A recognized leader and peer reviewer, Dr. Kataria serves on the editorial and review boards of the Journal of the American Dental Association, British Dental Journal, Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, and Journal of Oral Implantology. He is the Graduate Representative for the Advanced Dental and Graduate Education Committee and an Osteology Foundation Ambassador at the University of Connecticut, serving as a liaison between residents and the Foundation.
Dr. Kataria is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International (FADI), the International College of Dentists (FICD), and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. With over five years of diverse clinical experience across North America and Asia, he combines evidence-based practice, advanced surgical training, and interdisciplinary research to improve patient outcomes in complex periodontal and implant cases.
